The Role of the Local Tutor

  • To enrol teachers on the course
  • To ensure that they have access to all the materials and facilities (passwords, ect.)
  • To discuss and receive the teachers´ study plans
  • To receive the teachers´ responses to each of the modules
  • To support and encourage teachers as they work through the materials
  • To explain any points to the teachers which they do not understand (about the content and purpose of the materials or about the facilities)
  • To maintain contact with other tutors and to feedback any difficulties which teachers encounter
  • To identify key points raised by teachers undertakingthe course locally and to submit them to relevant Study Groups with the sub-heading "Group response" for example "Reading schemes (Group response, Wales)" followed by the keypoints.
  • These should be in the form of:
    • Questions
    • Comments
    • Contributions
    • Examples of practise
      …. related to the theme of the Study Group
  • To prepare a report of the teachers´ experience of the course materials
  • To encourage teachers to contribute to the Study Groups
